Emily L. Wright

COLUMBIA - Emily L. Wright, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 11, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with private family burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family encourages you to come as you are in casual dress. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Emily was born September 18, 1943 in Lavonia, Ga. to R.C. and Anna Alewine Fulghum. Her greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a friend, trusted advisor and confidant to everyone who had the pleasure of her company. For the past five years, Emily volunteered with Foster Grandparents where she mentored children and remained pen pals with many of them.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by siblings, Claude Fulghum, Wayne Fulghum Gene Fulghum, Melvin Fulghum, Ernest Fulghum and Glenda Jordan. She is survived by children, Karen Waters, Brian Waters, Craig Wright (Michelle); ten grandchildren, Carla Brace, Tonya Holland, Curtis Jackson (Clare), Joseph Bennett (Courtney), Krystal Bennett, Daniel Cartagena, Matthew Wright, Raymond Waters, Chandler Wright, Amelia Waters; eight great-grandchildren, Haven Rogers, Nathaniel Meador, Braison Bennett, Zaria Boney, Olive Brace, Asher Bennett, Jackson Brace, Josie Jackson; two siblings, Janice Adams and Connie Roberson.
