David Neil Charlton

COLUMBIA - A graveside service for David Neil Charlton, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. A virtual visitation will be held through Facebook Livestream from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Mr. Charlton died Monday, August 30, 2021. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, he was a son of the late Harry Matthew Charlton and Ethel Margaret Martin. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. David loved his family, the Steelers, country music, and his dogs.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Virginia Jo Charlton of Gaston, SC; sons, David M. Charlton of Gaston, SC, and William Charlton (Kerri L.) of Texas; daughter, Joanne Wick (Brian) of Gaston, SC; grandchildren, Brandon Charlton (Breanna), Brianna Bilton (William), Matthew Charlton, Keri Brazell (Joshua), Carly Charlton, Jacob Charlton, Jackson Neil Charlton, Gary Dean Kirchhoffer-Charlton; five great-grandchildren, and two on the way; sister, Karen Sue McEndree of Ohio; and brother, Richard K. Charlton of West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his four brothers and one sister.
