Columbia, South Carolina — Daniel Patrick Floyd, son of Ellen Margaret Haley and Harry Edward Floyd, Jr., was born and raised in Farmington, West Virginia. After serving 6 years in the U.S. Air Force, he attended Jones Business College and worked for Florida National Bank and Florida Technological University in Orlando, Florida. He moved to South Carolina in 1980 and retired from Lexington County Government in 2002. He was a member of Shandon Presbyterian Church in Columbia, South Carolina, and served on the AIDS Care Team and helped deliver Meals on Wheels.
He is survived by his wife Catherine of Columbia, step-son, Keith of California, and step-daughter, Melinda of New Jersey, sisters, Patricia (Mike) Bolyard, and Sharon Tassone, of West Virginia, and Roberta Floyd, of Florida, and brother, William Lee Bill (Peggy) Floyd, Sr., of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment in Elmwood Cemetery will be held at a later date.
