Betty L. King

COLUMBIA- Betty L. King, 84, died Friday, January 25, 2013. Mrs. King moved to Columbia, SC in 2008, from Hilton Head, SC. She was very active in Grace United Methodist Church in Columbia, SC and her efforts were recognized for her work in One Hundred Hats for the homeless in December, 2012, in the Irmo News and WISTV News 10.

Mrs. King was born in Altoona, PA, daughter of the late Joseph T. and Annie Belle Cochran. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Spitzer, from Naples, FL and her son, David Alan King Sr., from Wilson, NC. His wife, Margaret E. Vincent King and their children, Elisabeth Marie Byrd and husband, Brad, David Alan King Jr., and Carol Ann King. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan A. Lavelle King and her children, Wendy King Graham, husband, Chris, Joseph Richard King, Johnathon Michael King and wife, Tasha. Her great-grandchildren are Gabriel Joseph King, Annabelle Hart King and Addison Hanley King.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Henry King Sr. and her son, Richard Henry King Jr., her sisters, Stella DeLozier, Helen Olewine, Marie Peters and Myrtle Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 410 Harbison Blvd.,Columbia, SC, 29212 on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 1:00 p.m..
