Barbara Ellen Butt

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Barbara Ellen Vaughn Butt, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with entombment in the Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Butt died Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Born on October 8, 1937 in Eckman, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Martin Vaughn, Sr. and Madorah French Vaughn. A 1955 graduate of Northfork Elkhorn High in Northfork, West Virginia and she retired from Wetterau Foods, Inc./Supervalu as a Client Representative. Barbara lived in the Charleston and Summerville area for the last 50 years. An avid Gamecock fan, she attended many home and away football games. She loved her family and grandchildren. Barbara loved animals, especially her cats and dog, Max.

Surviving are her son-in-law, Charles A. Pitts; grandchildren, William A. Pitts and Marisa E. Pitts; and sister Gloris “Cookie” Vaughn Lafferty and her husband, Carl of Durham, N.C.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William K. Butt; daughter, Lisa Ann Butt Pitts; and siblings, Mildred “Millie” Vaughn Hendricks, Helen Vaughn Foster, and Martin Vaughn, Jr.
