Mr. Terry Lynn Dement, age 64 of Columbia, MS passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg, MS. He worked more than 25 years in oil field production and with his family business, Dement Roofing. Terry was a Christian and a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, and most enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all.
Mr. Dement was preceded by his father, Wendell Dement. His memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Nancy “Stinky” Dement of Columbia; two daughters, Kim Pennington (Tommy), and Niki McLeod (David), both of Goss, MS; a son, Chris Dement (Darlous) of Columbia; his mother, Elmo Dean Dement Robbins of Columbia; two sisters, Sharon Prine (Gary), and Renea Moree, both of Columbia; three brothers, Neil Dement (Regina) of Columbus, MS, Billy Don Dement, and Stevie Dement (Martha), both of Columbia; and five grandchildren, Jackson Dement, Madison Dement, Jeffrey Pennington, Carter Pennington, and Evie Pennington.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia where family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 pm until service time. Brother Everette Broome and Dr. Brian Malone will officiate at the service and burial will follow at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Jackson Dement, Jeffrey Pennington, Carter Pennington, Jason Dement, Ryan Williamson, Dereck Williamson as pallbearers, and Shawn Herrington, Brandon Prine, and Derek Bracey as honorary pallbearers.
