Maude Ellen Parish, of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, past from this life into God’s presence on Monday, April 22, 2024 at the age of 93. She was born in Sandy Hook to William and Helen Warren where she has remained a lifelong resident. Maude was a graduate of Columbia High School and played basketball at Pearl River Community College where she met her husband, Garland. She was employed with JC Penney in Columbia for 27 years. Maude was a woman of deep faith and served her community and her Lord through her lifelong membership with Grace Chapel at Sandy Hook. The best way to describe her is: She loved and she laughed. Known for patting, pointing, and waving, Maude loved loving and loved laughing. She loved God first, loved her family fiercely, loved her church family dearly, and loved everything about her church. She loved sweets, she loved sports, she loved goofy golf, she loved rainy days, and she loved talking. If you crossed her path, Maude loved you and sincerely loved doing things for you. She lived out Christ’s admonition to love God, love others, and serve them both. Maude will be remembered for giving the best hugs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Sara Jermyn, Mary Alice Tolle, Martha Bell, Julia Warren, and Jimmie Sue Kane; three brothers, Bill Warren, Robert Warren, and her twin, Jack Allen Warren: and her beloved husband, Garland Parish. Maude is survived by a daughter, Susan Albritton (Steve); a son, William Parish (Glenda); four grandchildren, Jessica Northcutt (Jake), Billy Albritton (Melody), Adam Albritton (Katie), and David Albritton (Allison); twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
