Mackynlee was born on February 24, 2009 to loving parents Mark and Susan Bedwell. The family’s tiny, cheerful caboose was adored by her sister, Shelby; brother, Connor; cousins, Derek Bedwell and Heath Bedwell; grandparents, James and Sylvia Martin; Ralph and Diane Bedwell; and Mee Maw Sharon Porter. Her uncles, Perry Martin and Matthew Bedwell, and aunt, Rhonda Pittman, preceded their niece in death.
An active, faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, Mackynlee was baptized on July 9, 2017 in front of a congregation that has been lifting her in their unwavering prayers since before she was born. As a beloved student at Columbia Academy, Mackynlee enjoyed cheering, playing piano, and giggling with adorable classmates. Mackynlee loved camping, boat rides, hunting, swimming, crafts, dinners at Bonsai, and attending Vacation Bible School.
A brave fighter for ten precious years, our Heart Baby has been an inspiration to us all through her amazing resilience, wonderful positive attitude, and faith in Jesus Christ. Generous with loving hugs and sincere compliments, she was an encouraging, selfless friend to everyone she met. Her short life has left a lasting legacy.
Visitation for Mackynlee will begin at 5:00pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the church with Dr. Tim Parker, Reverend Darrin Powell, and Reverend Evan Sheridan presiding. Interment will follow at Thomas Cemetery.
The love, kindness, and generosity of the Marion County community has been awe-inspiring. The family is humbled by and grateful for the outpouring of support and abundance of prayers over the past ten years. If friends so wish, an account for memorial gifts has been established at First Southern Bank in Columbia. The family will honor Mackynlee with these funds at a later date.
Thank you for loving our girl.
