Linda Marcel Broom of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the age of 50. She was born to Effie and Roland Broom of Foxworth, Mississippi on July 29, 1972. A true miracle from her first breath, Linda defied all odds as she was born with many limitations. She was the apple of her family’s eye and loved them very deeply. Linda never met a stranger, if she met you, she loved you and had a spirit that was larger than life.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Broom; brothers, William “Bill” Broom and Christopher “Chris” Broom; her nephew, Gabriel Broom; and nieces, Natisha Broom and Shauna Synesael.
Left to forever cherish her memory are her brothers, Sammie Broom of Foxworth, MS and Jeremy (Krista) Broom of Whiteland, IN; nieces and nephews, Nancy Ledger, Mark Broom, Betty Calhoun, Nina Bass, Kimberly Broom, Beverly Hammond, Nicholas Roberts, Ambar Broom, Bethany Philley, Chance Broom, Zachary Broom, Roland Broom, Sammie Broom Jr., Matthew Broom, Terry Broom, Devin Broom, Christian Broom, Ashlynn Broom, Madison, Broom, Jaila Northern and Mason Smith; great-nieces and nephews, Braden, Alex, Ian, Brenton, Camden, Natalie, Tre’, Kohle, Jackson, Brody, Aubree, Caiden, Aiden, Blakeli, Slade, Rylin, Little Sammie, Liam, Ryker, Hankston, Elias, Blaine, Brendan, Bentley, Nicholas Jr., Kalee and Greenleigh; and two great-great nieces and nephews, Ryleigh and Maddox. Linda also leaves behind her special sister-in-laws, Darla Broom Price, Faye Lucas and Loretta Smith.
There will be a visitation for Linda at Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Foxworth, Mississippi on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at 5:00 pm. The funeral service, officiated by Sister Linda Cox, will be at the Church on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery assisted by Mark Broom, Chance Broom, Sammie Broom, Christian Broom, Jackson Bourn and Braden Bass serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Roland Broom and Brody Bourn.
