Cynthia Brasseal "Cindy" Duckworth

Cynthia Brasseal “Cindy” Duckworth, a lifelong resident of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the age of 58. She loved being outdoors gardening and cherished the time spent in her she shed. Cindy loved life, loved her family and will be remembered for being kindhearted, vibrant, artistic, and creative. She enjoyed crafting and would always embellish any items that she purchased. She called it, “Improving upon a design.”

She was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Lott; and a step-mother, Wilda Faye McSwain. Cindy is survived by three daughters, Kelly Dyess Hurst (Zack), Lacy Stampley, and Kendra Dement; her father Kenneth Brasseal (Marianne); a sister, Shelia Brasseal Fultz; a brother, David Brasseal (Tressie); ten grandchildren, Michael Hurst, Zeke Hurst, Ezra Hurst, Lucy Hurst, Jonas Hurst, Toxie Davis, Wesley Davis, Evie Dement, Lexi Dearman, and Keegan Stampley McNeese; and her companion, Buddy Broome.

There will be a visitation for Cindy at Colonial Funeral Home from 9:00am until 11:00am on Friday, July 16, 2021. A graveside service will follow at 11:30am in the Mount Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
