Bobby Kay Tolar, age 84 passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at her residence in Columbia, MS. She was a member of Chapel of the Cross Methodist Church and worked for more than 20 years as a floral designer with various florists including Flowers and Gifts Florist in Columbia. Bobby Kay always had her family’s interest at heart which including working in the family sawmill, playing in numerous ballgames, and supporting rodeo and horse shows. Bobby Kay loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Tolar was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton “Chip” Tolar, parents, Joseph Wesley and Mary Edna Scarborough Wesley; and sisters, Merle McDougle, and Ann Dozier. Survivors include her daughters, Vickie Burge (Phil) of Columbia, and Wanda Davis of VanCleave, MS; two sisters, Joy Brooks (Al), and Fay Anderson, both of Columbia; a brother, Jimmy Joe (Vondell) Wesley of Columbia; three grandchildren, Chance Polk, Megan Lowery, and Cody Burge; and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Burge, Avereigh Lowery, Lane Lowery, and Adalee Lowery.
There will be a visitation held on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Burge Family Cemetery, Firetower Rd Columbia, with Reverend Bryan Beech, officiating.
