Shirley Ann Stewart, 86, of Columbia, MO passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021 in Columbia. A memorial service will be held graveside in Memorial Park Cemetery, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO at 10:30am on Tuesday October 12, 2021.
Shirley was born August 19, 1935 in Olean, MO to Everett Bledsoe and Meckie Belshe Bledsoe. She grew up in the Eldon area, and was a 1952 graduate of Eldon High School. After graduation, she worked a short while in the school office. On June 22, 1958 she married Paul Stewart in Eldon, and they moved together to Columbia where Paul was attending the University of Missouri. During her time living in Columbia she worked in Jessie Hall at MU and Saffees in Downtown Columbia, MO. Later on working thirteen years with Dillards as a Wedding Registry Consultant and was the first person to retire from the local Dillards. She then worked another thirteen years as a Lunch Cashier for Columbia Public Schools. She enjoyed watching her Soaps, QVC, and being aggravated by squirrels that came into her yard.
She is survived her daughter, Ellen (Jon) Butler of Columbia; granddaughter, Claire (Pano) Skyvalidas of Columbia and their daughter Callie; and a brother, Don Bledsoe of Olean, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in November 1988; a sister, Jean Weaver; and a brother, Carroll Ronald Bledsoe.
