Roy Richard Cameron, 91, went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2022. He died peacefully at his daughter, Gail Cameron and her partner Jeff Brown's home in Columbia, Missouri. He was born to Theodore Cameron and Margaret (Selby) Cameron in Macon, Missouri. He had two siblings; Ted Cameron Jr., and Winnie Heinson Cameron. They all preceded him in death.
Roy married June Elizabeth Barratt, whom he met in England while stationed there during the Korean War. He was very proud of serving his country in the Navy and the Air Force, he served for a total of 6 years. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for serving during the Korean War. From this union, three children were born; Gail Cameron (Jeff Brown), Barry Cameron, and John Cameron (Susan).
He was a storyteller and loved telling all of his stories to anyone who was willing to listen, and even some that weren't so willing. Roy served in many capacities during his employed years- his favorite job was working at the Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital. He served as a member of the housekeeping team, and also as the Union President. He befriended many people of all walks of life there.
Roy was a proud and giving man, he would be the first to volunteer with his time or money to anyone that needed help.
Roy leaves behind his three children, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
