Rose Marie Braden, 78, Boonville, MO passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Katy Manor surrounded by loved ones in Pilot Grove, MO. Rose Marie was also known as “Rory” to many friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Campus Lutheran Church in Columbia, MO. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm at the church with Pastor Kent Pierce officiating. Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11:00 am in New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, St Louis, MO.
Rose Marie was born on October 9, 1941 in Belleville, IL the daughter of Rev. Ralph and Rose (Bopp) Fessler who preceded her in death. She was married on October 6, 2000 in Miami Oklahoma to Eldon Braden who survives the home. Rose Marie worked at 3M in quality control for 20 years, she then provided care for developmentally disabled adults for many years, which she enjoyed. After retirement she pursued her dream of becoming a realtor. She loved helping people obtain their forever home in the lake area.
Rose Marie was always busy taking care of her four children that had many hobbies. She spent many hours preparing clothes and horses for her children who showed across the state of Missouri and adjoining states. She owned many beautiful horses and developed one of the finest paint stallions in USA/Australia that held many championships. This love of horses was passed down to her grandchildren who she also followed to many shows.
“Junking” was also a favorite hobby. She would go to out of the way places and find historic treasures. Rose Marie enjoyed breathing new life into her historic treasures.
Rose Marie and Eldon went to many car races and if they could not make it to the track, they enjoyed being together at home watching the races together.
She is also survived by three sons, Eddie Bartels (Denise) of Fulton, MO, Rollie Bartels (Tina) of Columbia, MO, and Rob Bartels (Shelley Mayer) of Fulton, MO; one daughter, Cassie Niles of Ft. Worth, TX; three step-daughters, Melva Parrett, Sandy Phipps, and Virginia Harbor; two sisters, Kathleen Krieger (Dee) of St. Louis, MO and Charlene Harrell (Charlie) of Carlisle, PA; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one step-son, David Braden.
