On Tuesday, January 1, 2019 Ronald Ray Coleman passed away unexpectedly at his home. A gathering of friends will be held Saturday August 10, 2019 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.
Ron was born in Columbia on January 10, 1950 to Betty Jean and Odell Coleman who preceded him in death. He was married to Kim Coleman for 48 years and the proud father of two sons, Christopher and Justin(Sarah) Coleman and the grandfather to Olivia, Evan, and Paloma whom he adored. He is also survived by a brother, Mike (Tawanda) and a niece, Hali.
Ron attended the University of Missouri and was a proud supporter of the Mizzou Tigers. He was also a avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and loved to watch them play.
Ron started his working life at Bobs Market on Worley St. sorting pop bottles in the 7th grade. He started working for Nowells Supermarket after high school and then got into the restaurant business starting at Flaming Pit and Katy Station restaurants. He then worked for various restaurant companies through out the US. He loved the restaurant business and felt lucky to travel all over the country with the business. He mostly loved the people he would meet and loved to make new friends. Ron never met a stranger and was a mentor to many.
After retiring from the restaurant business he sold commercial real estate for Maher Commercial Real Estate.
Ron was loved by many and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, Ron’s family would request memorials be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society using this link:
