He was born in Boone County on June 24, 1944 to William and Venetta Ethel (Carter) Cochran. Roger had a career in plumbing, working for himself at Cochran Plumbing and previously at T&T Plumbing. He had a passion for hunting, gambling, traveling, and watching fights on TV.
He was survived by his children, Marie Boyd, William Cochran, and Lynn Strickland; his grandchildren, Jerrica Parker, Jared Strickland, Kelly Allen, Homer Cochran, Roger Strickland III, Austin Wolfe, and JD Boyd; and his sisters, Lois Goodman and Mary Sue Anderson. His love for his family was evident in every moment he spent with them.
He is predeceased by his parents and siblings; Margie Beard, Bobby Cochran, Carl Cochran, Tommy Cochran, and Leslie Cochran.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 PM, October 7, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home/Columbia with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM.
