The first of five children, she graduated from Brashear High School in Brashear, MO. She received her degree as an LPN from the School of Nursing in Le Mars, IA. She worked in Le Mars, IA; Chicago, IL; Jefferson City, MO; and Columbia, MO.
Peggy is survived by her four siblings: Helen Minor, Joanne Foster, Dale (Ruth) Hammontree, and Gayle (Steve) Lee; her four children: Richard Loren Payne, Randall K. Payne, Reba Sharon Danielson, and Ryan Payne; and her husband, Robert Adams.
Peggy and Robert met in 1997, while on a Christian cruise to Israel. Following the cruise, they continued to remain in contact. Their relationship continued to grow until they married on June 1, 1999.
Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Loren Payne, and her parents, Gerald and Bonnie Hammontree.
A 10:00 am visitation will be held on Saturday, December 26, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 am, at Compass Evangelical Free Church, 600 Silvey St., Columbia, MO.
