Michael Bruce Anderson

Michael Bruce Anderson, 73, of Columbia, Missouri passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at his home. His remains will be entombed in Jefferson Barracks National Veterans Cemetery in St. Louis at 2 PM on July 28, 2023.

Michael was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa on August 10, 1949 the son of Kenneth Anderson and Arbaine Jo (Peterson) Anderson who have preceded him in death. He graduated from Coronado High School in Arizona, the class of 1967. He earned his Doctorate Degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. On September 4, 1969 she was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Heim who survives in their home.

Michael served as the chief operating officer at the Metropolitan St. Louis Psychiatric Center. He enjoyed sports, traveling, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his wife: Sandy Anderson; his children: Sean (Erica Hoffman) Anderson; Shane (Tracy) Anderson; Shannon (Shawn) Standridge; Shad (Rachel) Anderson; Candas (Kevin) Swartzendrubber; Teo Anderson; his grandchildren: Angelina; Quinn; Delaney Shepherd; Shipley; Caden; Kynlee; Travis; Chase; his brothers: David Anderson; Mark Anderson; one sister: Joni Pickering; two sisters-in-law: Kris Anderson; Deanna Anderson. He was preceded in death in by his parents; and two brothers: Doug Anderson and Jeff Anderson.
