Mary Ellen Petsel

Visitation will be 1-3pm, Saturday, May 14th, 2016, at Woodlandville United Methodist Church, 9801 Wilhite Road, Columbia, MO 65279, with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3pm.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Alta “Lawhorn” Henson; her first husband Joseph Carrone; and her second husband Joesph Petsel.

Survivors include her children, Cheryl Williams (James Jennings) of Columbia; Ramona Wayne (Tony) of Columbia; Joseph Carrone of Columbia; and step-sons Joseph Petsel and Randy Petsel, both of Columbia. Eight grandchildren, Kristy Hampton (Jason); Rebecca Williams; Jennifer Hicks (Brian); Valerie Theberge; Paige Farris; Hannah Carrone; Jimmie Petsel and Randy Dale Petsel (Candy), ten great-grandchildren and three siblings, Luther Henson (Madonna) of Center Lake, IA; Joyce Noettl of Palmdale, CA and Betty Melvin (James) of Columbia.

Mary was a strong and adventurous woman who truly enjoyed the closeness of her family. She was an active member of Woodlandville United Methodist Church and loved her church family dearly. She had quite the green thumb and loved to work in her flowerbeds. She enjoyed extensive traveling with her family over the years from family float trips to as far as Australia. She had a passion for volunteering and helping others, sharing her love for Christ along the way.

She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her dearly.
