Linda was born, the eldest of 9 children, on February 23, 1949 in Columbia. She developed the loving and nurturing manner she was known for at a young age and it stayed with her for her entire life. She left school early to help raise her brothers and sisters, was known as a second mom to many kids in their neighborhood, and was always happy to feed and house her sons’ friends. In July 1973, she married the love of her life Larry Bremer in Columbia. She worked many years as a waitress at GEM Drug, Elbert’s and Randy’s diners. Linda enjoyed reading romance novels in her spare time. She was a wonderful cook, it made her happy to feed all who came through her door, and she was a mother to all.
She is survived by her sons, Chris (Pam) Bremer of Columbia and Eric (Bela) Bremer of Riverview, FL; grandchildren, Brenden Bremer of Faulkton, SD and Nicholas Bremer of Riverview, FL; siblings, Sue Peterson and Sandy (John) Foster both of Columbia, Bill (Vera) Pruitt of Lewisville, TX, Bobby (Ann Perkins) Pruitt of Columbia, Janice Pruitt Tate of Fulton, and Glen (Donna) Pruitt of Wanatchee, WA, many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys Bradley Pruitt; husband, Larry Bremer; sister, Carol Byrd; brother, Jimmy Pruitt; and grandson, Rylan Newman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
