Visitation will be 2-3 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home with memorial service to follow at 3 pm.
Kathy was born June 13, 1947 in Columbia to Harold and Bernice (Dorricott) Platz, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Raymond “Ed” McGee of the home, daughter Marni (Colby) Ardrey of Harrisburg, MO; three grandchildren, Kieran, Riley, and Taelan Ardrey, of Harrisburg; siblings Joseph Platz and wife Terri of Columbia, and Susan deCamara and husband Richard of Houston, TX; five nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews.
Kathy graduated from Hickman High School in 1965 and received her nursing degree from Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO. She was a registered nurse for more than 30 years, working at Boone Hospital for 26 years. She loved everyone she met and was dedicated to her family and church. Kathy loved animals and the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, and bird watching. She was a member of the United Church of Christ.
The family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
