Jeremy Weingartner

Jeremy Steven Weingartner, 45 of Columbia, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Columbia, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service.

Jeremy was born on January 16, 1977 in Florissant, Missouri, the son of Steven Weingartner and Gale (Szymanski) Weingartner. He graduated from McCluer High School. On June 21, 2003 he was united in marriage to Andrea Jacobson at First Baptist Church. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in English and History from the University of Missouri, an Associate of Applied Science in Mechatronics from Moberly Area Community College, and his teaching certificate from Columbia College. He was an instructor for Columbia Public Schools at the Columbia Area Career Center and had previously taught at Lange Middle School. Jeremy was a member of First Baptist Church, and he served as a Cub Scout Den Leader. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and traveling with family and friends. Jeremy loved playing the guitar, doing arts & crafts projects with his children, and spending time with his wife.

Jeremy is survived by his wife: Andrea and their children: Jonah and Marley. He is also survived by his mother: Gale Weingartner; three sisters: Melissa (Giovanni) Laurenti; Stephanie (John) Wallace; Emily (Dan) Hurst and a host of aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Steven and a cousin: Casey Gregory.
