James Edward Freeman

Jim was born April 17, 1939 in Harrisburg, MO to Sam and Dulcie Ray Freeman. In 1957, he graduated from Harrisburg High School. In 1959, he married Barbara Niles; they were married nearly 60 years. Jim worked for Nowell’s Grocery on Worley Street for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Freeman; daughter, Marsha Schafer, sons; Lance (Becky) Freeman, Tim (Karen) Freeman and son-in-law, Kenny Hulen, all of Columbia; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a brother, Larry Freeman of Harrisburg, and sister, Carol Freeman of Columbia. Preceded in him in death; a daughter, Belinda Hulen; brother, Bill Freeman; sister, Virginia Niles, infant twin brothers and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri.
