Gracie Andrews

Gracie J. Andrews, 71, was born June 1, 1953, to the union of Tabitha Pauline and Roger E. Holt in Hart County, Kentucky. She departed this life on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at home in Columbia, Missouri.

Gracie was a “people person” and never met a stranger. To know her was to love her and become one of her “adopted daughters/sons.”

She always worked in jobs that consisted of helping others as a CNA (certified nurse assistant). Her last employment was with Missouri Cancer Center prior to retiring and traveling to various islands or countries.

Gracie leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 32 years, Johnny Sr.; two sons, Edward Skinner III and Johnny Andrews Jr.; two daughters, Vickie C. Holt and Latonya M. Peterson; three brothers, Michael Holt, Rondall Holt, Lester Holt; three sisters, Linda Jackson, Sherline Thomas (Anthony) and Lynn Norris; thirteen grandkids, Patrick Tomlinson, Monica Tillman, Alysia Tillman, Kiarra Massel, Tyzhea Wright, Jasmine Benitez, Analyse Skinner, Gracie Skinner, Edward Skinner IV, Kaydi Forrester, Kevin Peterson, Sukoya McClellan and Carrie Clark; ten great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.

Gracie was a devoted woman of God and a strong prayer warrior. Her Christian journey started at a young age in Kentucky. Gracie’s vocal gift was used to comfort her patients while in the clinic or requested to sing at their funeral. Their songs of choice were “Amazing Grace” and “His Eyes Are On The Sparrow.”

Gracie was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Betty Simmons, Blanch Newton, Mary Trawick; two brothers: Willard Holt and James Holt; a grandson Patrick Tomlinson and two granddaughters: Annabell Marie Fleetwood and Georgia Jean Browning.

Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with an 11 AM Funeral Service to follow. Gracie will be interred at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, in Jacksonville, MO at 2 PM the same day.
