Visitation will be from 10-11am, Wednesday, November 22 at Memorial Funeral Home, with funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Harlene was born June 22, 1946 to Harvey and Frances Weaver in Sturgeon, Mo. On November 15, 1978 she married Philip Craig in Columbia, who survives.
Harlene, a lifelong resident of Boone County, attended Columbia Public Schools, graduating from Hickman High School in 1964. She was employed by UHC for several years as a PT CARE Technician, primarily in the NICU. She then became the office manager for Dr. Delia Matias in her pediatric practice. Later she became the office manager for Dr. Deborah Blain, DC before retiring in 2012. For many years she was very active in the Neo-Fight organization and the United Methodist Women’s group, making many craft items for their annual fund raising bazaars. She held several positions in each of these organizations.
In addition to her husband of 39 years, Philip Craig, she is also survived by her mother, Frances Welsh, Columbia, son, Brian (Tina) Overton, Hallsville; uncles , Charles (Marilyn) Wheeler, Columbia, Delbert Wheeler, St. Charles; nephew, Earl (Danielle) Hendrickson and their daughter Payton, Columbia, and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, step-father, sister, granddaughter Kendall, and several aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; and/or The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, 2101 Vandiver Dr., Columbia, Missouri 65202.
