Robert “Bob” Burmester, Jr. of Columbia, Maryland passed away on December 13, 2024. Born on April 16, 1951 in Long Island, New York, he was a devoted husband to Sharon and a loving father to Paul and Caitlyn.
Bob worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 43 years, starting from a mail clerk as a young man in New York to later become an I.T. Manager at the U.S.P.S. Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he was known for being energetic and perseverent. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and hobbies.
In his freetime, Bob practiced and mastered Tai Chi and Jeet Kune Do, enjoyed nature walks, and loved attending concerts. When Bob and Sharon had Paul and Caitlyn, his hobbies grew to include cheering his kids on at sporting events. Watching Paul and Caitlyn grow up and become adults was Bob’s biggest point of pride.
