It’s hard to believe a year has gone by without your smile Makenzie. May your family be healing and may you be there to guide the ones still here on earth.  I know you’re with the angels and wishing everyone peace during this time of the year.

The Jewish people do not believe in hell, only heaven. However they are very strict that the prayer for the dead must be said everyday for a year to ensure the soul reaches heaven and it is believed a soul can be in between for no longer than a year. This occasion is celebrated and called an unveiling and the period of mourning comes to an end. The better you were as a person in life the faster that whole process takes. And for the wicked it is believed a second can feel like an eternity and for the righteous it is instantly. I believe Makenzie was worthy of the direct flight first class, with a seat at the table of the righteous. If anyone deserved that it was her. A year has felt like an eternity and I can speak for many this year in particular was one of the hardest of recent memory. I pray for all of  us that the path forward will be now filled with love, health, joy and peace. Makenzie is free to smile down upon us and give us just a little taste of that radiant spirit and just thinking this right now makes me smile and I see her as I always will remember her, healthy, joyous, loving and peaceful. She will be forever missed but never forgotten, and her legacy will effect generation. Happy New Year to all her friends and family and let your healing take the next step forward.

Makenzie was my CAPS therapist at FAU. I think about her very often, even more so today that I looked her up to see what she was up to.  My heart instantly dropped. To her family - she changed my life completely. I am now pursuing psychology because of the changes she made in my life and I hope you all know what amazing impacts she made on others.  May she rest in paradise. 🤍

Sending so much love to the circle that adores and holds so many magical experiences in their hearts from knowing her.    Its been beautiful to witness her life from the time she dared as a baby to walk to the fullness she lived onward.   Kenzie was IN life fully  from the minute she showed up on this planet.  

What a blessing.  That smile.  Her ability to listen and hear you.  What a big loving heart.  

We would all be wise to remember how short this life experience is and live as fully, with such compassion, love and full engagement as this girl did --- So much love to you Kenzie---I am so sorry this was so short,.  I am sorry for all of us not having anymore time with you  but also deeply sorry for your mom and dad, Amy and John.

You have etched a beautiful mark on our hearts  --

Kenzie and I lost touch soon after high school, but I could never forget the hours and hours we spent playing soccer. From late evening practices to early morning games and tournaments, Kenzie was always such a joy to be around. I'm so honored to have gotten to know her and to have spent that time with her. Thinking of her family and all of her loved ones during this time ❤️❤️

To all those who loved her, these words are for you as a way to make sense of the senseless, and accept something unacceptable. But yet you will in time, especially because of the profound impacts and legacy that will exist for generations to come. That was the beauty of Mackenzie, she dedicated her life to others dealing with a cruel and unjust world and she was very good at it.  As the past president of the Beta Rho Chi Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, I had the honor to work with her and her passionate classmates looking for a way to do something meaningful in the aftermath of George Floyd. As we talked about many ideas. I knew it was a long shot as I dream big too, but when I told them about the peer mentor program idea I had but it would take 5-6 people, take at least  2-3 months and would need a strong leadership team lead by 2 warriors to get it off the ground, without hesitation she and her friend Kira said yes and everyone agreed. Kira served as Chair year 1 and Makenzie was chair year 2.  She was always a leader and they worked very well together. She didn't need recognition she just needed it done. As I watched in awe, they did it, I saw a vision and dream come to life and watch a true leader Makenzie in action, amazed how dedicated and passionate she was. Always on time and triple prepared. With her dedication and transfer of knowledge, plans, templates, and droboxes, she made it impossible for a new group of people to not be able to keep in going. To this day I am proud to say the Peer Mentor Program  is  fully sustainable and  will be annually renewed for its continued impact and success. So when people say those we lost live on in other ways... Makenzie's influence already has and will continue to impact the future careers and clients of our counselors in training for hundreds to thousands of people and  for generations to come. That is profound, and she really does live on and will always be giving back. Now that is an impact to be proud. Shine of Makenzie

My memories of Kenzie were through the lens of being best friends with Sydney growing up. I always thought Syd was so lucky to have the coolest cousins. Kenzie was like her best friend and big sister and I always loved that. Kenzie welcomed Syd’s friends like they were her own. I loved getting to watch her journey through life through social media. She was just so real, all the time. So brave. And carried so much light and pure energy I could feel it through my phone. I didn’t know her well, but what I did I know I loved. I’ll be thinking of her soul & her family 💕 sending all the love I have 

My beautiful granddaughter was with us for just a short time . But in that time she left us with so many memories of her kindness, love , courage, compassion and joy which will be with us forever. Love you Kenz. You are now pain free and in the arms of Johnny and your Pop Pop .  Love you forever . 💕   Nana  ( Honey)

Dear Rynn family,

I am so saddened.  I loved meeting Makenzie this year.  She was an absolutely wonderful young woman.  

Makenzie beamed whenever she talked about her hiking adventures with Michael and her future plans, and of course when we talked about Piper. 

She brought joy to others with her kindness and wit.  Her love for others was so genuine.  I am blessed to have known her.
