Kevin Duffy passed away on January 6th, 2023 after a long battle with illness. He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1953. He graduated from Mount St. Joseph High School, and from the University of Maryland with a degree in Chemistry. He spent most of his career as an environmental chemist and engineer. His adventurous spirit led him to live in Richmond, VA, Boston, MA, and Narragansett, RI, where he met his wife Alexandra. They settled in Columbia, MD, where their sons, Ian and Brian, were raised. He loved to travel, exploring places such as Japan, Colombia, and Mexico, as well as many of America’s national parks. He was an avid sailor. He remained close friends with Alexandra after an amicable divorce. In 2002, he successfully overcame tonsil cancer. In 2021, he began fighting lymphoma, and never gave up. He is survived by his sons Ian and Brian, his sisters Maureen (Jim) and Kathleen (Steve), and many nieces and nephews. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, at www.cbf.org.
