Robert Tomee Robbins was born in Hemet CA to Herbert and Velma Ludean Robbins of Idyllwild, CA on December 25th 1947. Shortly after his birth, Tomee’s three sisters, Silvia, Terry and Paula Robbins was born. Due to his father’s employment with the US forest service the family did move quite often and spent many summers in the national forests while his father worked. The family also lived in Redlands and Grand Terrace before permanently settling in Highland, CA in 1961.
Family vacations were mainly spent camping either in the mountains or at the beach with aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tomee played football for and graduated from San Gorgonio High School in 1966 and after graduation he joined the United States Army where he was injured during a parachute jump and was honorably discharged due to that injury.
After he was discharged from the military he began working as a mechanic and through his sister, Silvia, was introduced to his wife Judy. Shortly after they married they moved to Alaska and their son Kevin was born. He and Judy returned to San Bernardino where he started working as a mechanic for Stater Bros. He enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, fishing and four wheeling; he and his Dad would make a yearly trip to Utah for deer season and most years they would also head to Northern California to surf fish .
He and Judy remained in San Bernardino until his passing on October 25, 2021.
Robert Tomee Robbins – our beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and cherished friend – we will forever miss you but you will live on eternally in our hearts.
