Robert Joseph Allgeier

Robert was born on Nov 7, 1948 to Donna and Joseph Allgeier, in Sunman, Indiana. He was the second oldest of 9 children. He joined the Navy in 1967.

A few memories that his sisters have that they shared of Bobby was that He enjoyed playing in the dirt with his cars, trucks, and tractors. He was always happy and could make us laugh. Bobby could fry the best eggs. It used to make me mad when we were kids because his eggs were better tasting and looked better than mine. He was very good with helping take care of our younger brothers and sisters. A fond memory was on Sat. afternoons after we had our baths Mom would give us each a nickel and we would all walk up town to the local homemade ice cream store and get one dip of ice cream in a cone. He would be holding one or two hands as we went. As a young teen Bobby would work for area farmers and make some spending money. In the winter when we could go ice skating, he would test the ice to make sure it was thick enough for us to skate on. Of course, it was just a swamp place that was not very deep, but he would check it. He was kind and loving to the younger siblings. There was an older lady in our neighborhood that Bobby would go get groceries for and get her mail. When he was home one time on leave from the navy, he went to the nursing home to visit her. While he was home, he made it a point to go visit our aunts and uncles. When he came home from the navy, we would always ask him to bring home the octopus in a can (instead of tuna in a can) and watch him eat it. He was very caring to a lot of people.

Robert married Erminia Allgeier on April 5, 1974 in the Philippines. Aside of being survived by his wife Erminia, Robert also leaves behind his two children (Louie and Estrella), his four grandchildren (Angel, Tyler, Gabriel, and Nalonie), and his two dogs, (Bernadette and Bailey).

On his final day, he left in peace and was at home surrounded by his loved ones.
