This would have been about the second or third time I met him, and this is how I remember him.

Our condolences to all the family. We have many  good memories of Bro Peter Barkovic through the years, including the church conferences  in Los Angeles area during the early 1970s. Thanfully we were able to visit with him at his shop in the Redlands area a few years ago when we were in California.

I was only 5 when Barcovic Family came to USA and lived with us until they were able to find a place to live.  As a teenager I would walk to their condo or shop in Brentwood. Then I got a job in Century City and would visit Uncles shop. 
As the years went by they moved to the country and I would visit the new shop. As time went past I would return to visit and regale them both with stories from afar places I would visit.  Uncle always worked and the "radnja" and "igla" were his life. 
I'm glad to have visited him in his last years. Sad to see him pass away and wish I could be there with his Family. Rest in Peace until that glorious morning. Much love and Condolences to his family and loved ones.  Djani

Working on the family farm growing up, I always looked forward to visiting my cousins in Santa Monica and Los Angeles.
I remember visiting my uncles and aunts shop in Brentwood. I watched how my Uncle Petar would talk to his customers. The man always had something to say, and keep his potential customers in a good mood. He had a talent with his speech, even though it was broken English.
I’ve visited all of his shops over the years. The shop in Century city is the one that I liked, it made a person feel different about themselves. 
When my uncle would sell you a brand new suit, he would explain how owning a suit will better your life. “Every man should own a suit,” is what he said.
He was right to a certain degree. Especially when you buy a suit from Century City!
Uncle Better, Petar used to speak at church gatherings. He was a good motivator to get people to donate money for different causes. I watched after he spoke how people used to just put money into the plate. I think his speech made him successful. He was a good sales person.
Whenever my aunt and uncle used to visit us in Sacramento, they would bring gifts to us boys. I remember my aunt was slipped me a $20 bill and tell me to keep quiet about it. My uncle would come around later and slip me a $20 bill and he asked me to keep quiet about it. Now I realized why I liked My uncle and aunt so much . I also remember when I was a teenager, my uncle would talk to me about spiritual things. He gave me a book titled, The Desire of Ages. I am thankful that my uncle Petar was also interested in my spiritual life.
I will miss him!

Sorry for your irreplaceable loss to his daughters Lily & Diane , the grandchildren and rest of the family! May his legacy of  generosity, kindness and being on fire for the Gospel Commission continue!!

Uncle Pierre will be dearly missed by both of us.
 
He was really nice to us.  He made us laugh, and always stood by our side. Everyone who knew him felt this way.

Now that we're saying goodbye to him for the last time, we think about all the great memories we shared with him and the things he taught us. It makes us feel better to know that his legacy will continue through the lives he influenced.
