Linda D Thomas

Linda Diane Thomas, age 72, received her heavenly wings on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Redlands, Ca. She was born on July 20, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to James and LaVerne Thomas. She graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, California in 1969. She went on to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) and later practiced as a phlebotomist for many years. Linda’s hobbies included sewing, dancing, reading James Patterson novels and spending time with her grandsons.

In 1971, she gave birth to her first daughter, Alison, with James Matlock. Later, in 1978, she was blessed with her second daughter, Tiffany. She later moved her girls, as a single mother, to Birmingham, Alabama, where she would give them many adventurous times and many memories to cherish. Linda dedicated her life to putting her girls first and worked effortlessly to teach them how to be fierce young ladies and loved every moment watching them grow into just that.

Linda was known for her strong, independent personality and was admired by all who knew her. One of her greatest accomplishments was renewing her LVN license at the age of 60 and truly enjoyed helping her patients and mentoring her CNAs, when possible. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, James R. Thomas, mother, LaVerne Hollins Thomas, and daughter, Tiffany Yvette Thomas. She lovingly leaves behind a daughter, Alison Flournoy; son-in-law, James K. Flournoy, Jr.; grandsons Noah Tillman, Joshua Flournoy and Jordan Flournoy; brother, Michael Thomas; sister, Carole Thomas; nieces Courtni Thomas and Desiree Thomas and a host of cousins and cherished relatives.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Montecito Mortuary in Colton, California.

To Linda – we say farewell for now, but we will never forget the light you brought into our lives. May you rest in peace, and may we continue to honor your memory by living our lives to the fullest.
