John M. Bielinski

John is survived by his wife Wendi, son Christian; parents Lonnie & Marketta Bielinski; mother in law, Linda Kaufman, sisters Debby (Bill) Lardi, Michelle Bray, Lisa Bielinski,and Natalie (Erick) Legner; in-laws John & Diane Bricker, Richard Bricker, Stefani (Mike) Bricker, and Carissa Vyas; nieces and nephews Stephen Bray, Michael Lardi, Jonathan Bray, Erin Wilson, Andrew Legner, Kayla Bricker, Robert Godby, Chasin Bricker, Sarah Godby, Alyssa, Marissa, Damian & Stephen Rines.

John graduated from Fontana High School in 1980 and from Chaffey College in 1984. He was a correctional officer with the California Department of Corrections.

John was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. John’s passion was to be a professional bowler. He bowled one 299 game, and two 300 games in his career.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00am at Montecito Memorial Park & Mortuary in Colton, CA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a college fund for John’s son, Christian.

John Michael Bielinski, also known as “Uncle Johnny”, was born to Lonnie & Marketta Bielinski on February 14, 1962 in Fontana, CA. John was born prematurely with respiratory complications and had to remain in the hospital for some time before he could come home. When John was brought home, his four sisters were immediately fascinated with his “unique anatomy” which, much to their amazement, didn’t look anything like theirs.

During his early childhood, John had many exciting adventures. One of these adventures was a planned trip to the moon when he was five years old. John prepared for this trip by packing one pair of socks & a loaf of bread in a small white suitcase, after which, with his beloved teddy bear tucked under his arm, he headed down the street with a friend to find the moon. This moon adventure became one of his family’s favorite stories to tell through the years.

John graduated with honors from Fontana High School in 1980. He obtained an Associate in Science degree from Chaffey College in Alta Loma, CA in 1984. John attended CSUSB and left one class shy obtaining his Bachelor in Science degree, at which time he was accepted into the Basic Correctional Officer Academy for the state of California. John successfully completed his training with recognition as an outstanding student in 1986.

John always maintained a good work ethic. He was employed by Mobile Lunch in Fontana, CA, as a security guard at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, CA and as a correctional officer with the state of California. John was well-liked by all of his fellow co-workers through the years.

John knew Jesus as his savior and was involved with the Covenant Keepers men’s group at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fontana, CA. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and did volunteer work at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, CA.

In 1982, John met his future wife, Wendi. John told Wendi he knew he was going to ask her to marry him from the first day they met. John and Wendi were eventually married on September 17, 1988 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fontana, CA. Out of this marriage came a beautiful baby boy, Christian Michael, born on February 6, 1992.

John enjoyed spending time with his family and his life-long friends who shared his love of fishing, boating, water skiing and riding sea-doos on the Colorado River. John’s aspiration was to become a professional bowler. He bowled a 299 game in 1990 followed by a perfect 300 game in 1991 and another perfect game again in 1992. This was a sport he also enjoyed with his dad, Lonnie.

John’s attitude was always a positive one and remained that way during the 20 years he lived with multiple sclerosis. Toward the end of his illness, the Neurologist who took care of him for all of those 20 years commented on how amazing it was that John had kept such a positive attitude and had maintained his sense of humor through it all. His positive attitude and wonderful sense of humor will long be remembered by his family and friends.
