Arturo Guzman-Fuentes, also known by many as "El Camaron," answered a very important call on the morning of April 20th, 2018, a special invitation he could not decline, taking him on a wonderful journey to a place where he would be reunited with his beloved mother and father and older brother. He was the proud father of his four living adult children, Norma Guzman-Arriaga, Arturo Jr. Guzman, Sonia Castaneda, and Brenda Guzman, and the most playful and sweet grandfather to all 10 of his grandchildren whom he absolutely adored.
Arturo loved life and lived it to the fullest! He loved to cook up a feast every chance he had, usually his most famous specialty known by ALL, Cocteles de Camaron with Tostadas de Ceviche, and his delicious Birria. The friendliest of all people, Arturo enjoyed a good conversation and a good round of poker, always teaching his best tricks because he was THE king of poker after all! In addition, he loved the outdoors and was a super early morning riser. You could always find him outside at the crack of dawn appreciating the morning with his cup of coffee and cigarette in hand. His family said, "Despite the health risks, it brought us joy and an inward happiness to always see him delight in his favorite life indulgences and his ability to live in the moment ALWAYS." In his later years he loved reading the Bible and learning about God's Word, bringing so much joy to those who loved him. The vivid image of him all dressed up in his best suit, cowboy boots and hat, and the faint clean-shaven smell of Old Spice will forever linger in the hearts and minds of those who knew him well.
"We know our dad would like to be remembered with lots of joy, hope, and trust that soon we will be reunited with him once again. In the meantime, we will embrace the memory of his warm, honey-caramel eyes looking down over every single one of his children and grandchildren. We've gained our very own guardian angel in heaven, our dad, our handsome, witty and fun-loving "Flaquito."
Nos Vemos pronto Papi! We love you so much!!"
Always and forever in our hearts ❤
