Alice Lucero Alaniz passed away peacefully at the age of 86. We were all blessed to be able to surround her with the love of family. She is survived by her children, Alison Camberos, husband Carlos, David Alaniz, wife Neoma, and youngest Adrienne Alaniz. Her grandchildren, Daniel, Linda, and Christopher Camberos, and Hank, Xochitl, Ethan, and Clementine Alaniz and a great-grandson, Angel Gonzalez.
Alice graduated from Colton High School where she met her husband, Henry. They made their home in Colton and later, in San Bernardino. Together, she and Henry celebrated 64 years of marriage.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral, involved in many of the church groups and activities.
Our beautiful mother will remain forever in our hearts.
A reception to follow will be held at the Gonzales Center, 670 Colton Avenue in Colton.
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of the day
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life has been full, I've savored much
Good friends, good times,
a loved one's touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free!
