Tom, 81, was the New Year baby of 1931, born in Guthrie, Oklahoma. His Parents were Frank and Genevieve (Beland) Gresham. He spent his childhood years in Guthrie, graduating from high school in 1948.
The next four years he was enrolled at the University of Oklahoma, receiving a degree in Business Administration in 1952. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity and active in the R.O.T.C. Tom then became an Officer in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1954 he returned to the University to begin studies toward a law degree. At this time he met and married Camilla (Ambrose). Upon completion of law school, Tom was hired to work in the Tulsa County Attorney’s office. A position he held for five years, four of which he was Chief Prosecutor.
In 1962 Tom moved his family to Colorado Springs and joined the law firm of Cool and Phillips. When Robert L. Russel was elected District Attorney of El Paso County Tom was appointed Assistant District Attorney, part time, while retaining the most satisfying those working with his son Spencer, when they formed the firm of Gresham and Gresham.
Over the 50 years Tom lived in Colorado Springs, he was very involved and interested in the community. Serving as President of the El Paso Bar Association, and an Emeritus member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He also served on the boards the Nutrition Camp, Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region, Central Bank, Advisory Board of the U S Bank, El Paso Club and the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club.
Tom always enjoyed playing bridge and gin rummy with friends; He also had wonderful memoires of travels with family and friends.
Survivors include Camilla, son Spencer and his wife Gretchen, adored grandchildren Davis, Grayson and Henry Gresham. His sister Virginia (Dan) La Fortune, Anaheim, CA and nieces and nephews, all of whom he looked forward to their phone calls and visits. Also Dolly, the family cat. He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Dew Jr., a sister Genevieve Phillips and a brother Louis Gresham.
