Terry’s abundant gratitude towards God and those around him was evident in his prayers during family gatherings. His deep faith in Christ shaped his character and touched the lives of all who knew him.
Born in Lansing , Michigan on June 25, 1943. Terry was the son of Harry and June Piddington. Terry graduated Vermontville High School and pursued further education at Colorado State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics. He later achieved a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
Terry served in the Air Force for 20 years. In 1978 he was nominated for the prestigious Flemming Award for restoring operational status to an out of control military weather satellite resulting in the “save” of a $19.5 million spacecraft.
Terry’s professional journey was marked by dedication and success . After retiring from the Air Force, he was a partner in two private companies, CTA and Core Capital Group.
Terry was very active in his community, serving on the board of several non -profit agencies and was a founding member of Diakonia; a nonprofit organization providing no cost preschool to disadvantaged youth.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Piddington. He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Cathy Phillips (Derek), Daniel Piddington (Kim), Jeffrey Piddington(Ila) and Dr. Debra Flood (Tim). Terry was a proud grandfather to 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Piddington.
Above his work and community service, Terry’s greatest joy was his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by Carol, his wife of 61 years, his children, brother, extended family and friends .
A memorial service to celebrate Terry’s life will be on Wednesday July 24, 2024 at 10:00 am at Gateway Presbyterian Church located at 731 Castle Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the non-profit organization of your choice.
