Teri Lyn Goodall passed away on May 26, 2022 at home in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born December 1, 1956, the second child of Jack Henson and Mary Ellen (Gittings). She spent her younger years between Stronghurst and Biggsville, IL.
Teri was a hairdresser before moving to Colorado in 1980, where she eventually found herself working in community corrections. She later tested for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, joining as a deputy sheriff in 1983. Teri worked her way up the command chain to become the department’s first female Undersheriff in 2003. Once retired, she spent the remainder of her life traveling to beaches, adventuring on white water rafting, having breakfast with Rod, and loving her grandchildren. As a competitive shooter for several decades, Teri competed in many state and regional championships and often won High Lady in the matches.
Quick witted and fiery, Teri was quick with a joke to make those around her laugh. A fan of pranks, she kept her family and closest friends always on their toes. Teri’s big heart expanded to those beyond her family, cultivating and maintaining a lifelong network of close friendships, some of whom were there for her last moments - and to whom we’ll always be grateful.
Teri is survived by her love and partner of more than 30 years, husband Roderick Goodall; her children Timothy Olson, Michelle Turner, and Christina Goodall; her grandchildren Colton, Addison, and Zane Turner; her sons-in-law John Turner and Alex Ayala. Teri is preceded in death by her parents.
Teri will be deeply missed by all those who knew her, but she would tell us this is no time for tears, share a joke and a laugh, and celebrate living.
