Scott Spencer Redfield came into our world to provide us with an endless about of generosity, a huge heart, smiles, laughter, a sense of financial planning and a love for coffee. Scott was an inspiration to his family, co-workers, and friends.
Scott landed on October 29, 1976 to his mother Paula (Greg) and his father Rich (Sue). He and his younger brother Drew (Melanie) would grow up doing many things throughout their life. Drew’s favorite memory is of him, Scott and their dad body surfing and boogie boarding at Torrance or Manhattan Beach. It was the perfect balance of cool water and warm beach. Drew remembers how good they all felt there.
Scott attended Doherty High School in Colorado Springs and attended Western State University in Gunnison and the University of Northern Colorado in Greely where he was known for his cross country running. Scott also loved mountain climbing. Both of these activities allowed him to find many lifelong friends.
Scott began his financial career at Janus and went on to T.Rowe Price in 2001. He had a gift of knowledge and compassion for his co-workers and customers. He always had a smile to share and a passion for success for his colleagues.
Scott married the love of his life Barbara on November 12, 2005. The two of them shared the love of many pets (Jasmine, Azrael, Arwen, Khloe, Mercedes, Lexus, Maddy and Callie). They both loved to travel and had many exciting anniversary trips.
He gained the love of Ed & Joy (affectionately known as his “outlaws”). Scott loved working on the ranch with Ed and learning from him. Scott and Ed shared many trips to Montrose to work on that property. Scott will be forever missed as the driver in the canyons. Scott never missed an opportunity to bring Joy a cup of Starbucks. It did not matter where they were, he would find a Starbucks and go get them each a cup.
He was the instant uncle to Maverick and Logan. They have so many memories of him from sledding, eating ice cream, playing pool, laser tag and playing video games. Maverick’s first memory is standing next to uncle Scott as he married aunt Barbara. Logan always remembers at the holiday’s uncle Scott waking him up with a big hug, the best way to wake up. Scott watched them grow into young men. He taught both how to be snappy dressers. He was a part of everything in their lives. Scott always sent a happy birthday message to his sister-in-law Carrie, just so she would know he was thinking of her.
Scott’s young nephews Jude and Arlo were beginning to share memories with “uncle Turbo” and learning his passion for fun. Scott always knew how to bring a smile to their face and make them laugh.
Scott always brought a smile to wherever he was and made everyone feel special. He loved life, his family, and his work. As you think of Scott, take time to love your pet and have a cup of coffee with him. He is smiling down on all of us. Remember Scott for how he made us feel and how he treated everyone with dignity, class, and respect.
A Remembrance Gathering for Scott will be held from 1:00PM-3:00PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
