Roy was born in Denver, Colorado, September 1927. He attended Cretin Military School in St. Paul, Minnesota, and served in the Army/Air Force during WWII. He studied art for 3 years at the Minnesota Museum School of Art and 2 years at the New York Art Students League. In 1954 he married his wife Theresa Ann. They raised 7 children together and were married for 54 years.
Roy was the Art Production Manager of the Denver Dry Goods before he began his work as a staff artist with the Denver Post National Sales Division. He was promoted to Art Director of the Empire Magazine, and he went on to be the Art Director of Advertising, working for the Denver Post a total of 36 years.
Roy moved to Colorado Springs, where he continued to create new art and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, August 9, 2010, 2:00pm at Glennon Heights Mennonite Church, 11480 W Virginia Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80226. A reception will follow.
