Robert F. Hughes Jr.

Robert was born October 29th, 1948 in Hillsboro, Illinois to Robert F. Hughes, Sr. and Josephine (Savino) Hughes.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert F. Hughes, Sr. and Josephine Hughes; his younger brother, Gary Lee Hughes (1984); and his stepson, Aron Owens (2014).

Robert was an avid baseball fan for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1975, Robert received his pilots’ license for flying small planes. His other interests included hiking, skiing, and playing golf.

Robert graduated in 1966 from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro, Illinois. He then joined the Army in 1968 for two years and was honorably discharged in 1970.

Robert met Brenda in 2001. They were married July 20th, 2003 in Niagara Falls, NY. In 2005, Robert and Brenda retired to Colorado Springs, CO to the present. His favorite place to visit was Garden of the Gods.

Robert is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Stacey Roach (Jeff); son, Brian Hughes (Alicia); stepson, Jeremy Owens (Sara); stepdaughter, Carla Rezmovits (Patrick); as well as several cousins. Robert loved his family and cherished his ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
