Neil was an amazing man and he will be missed by so many. He had a loving heart that was just as big as his positive and upbeat personality! Neil never had a negative attitude or outlook on life. At least, he never showed it. He was a wealth of knowledge on many different subjects and he enjoyed sharing his studies with others. I will forever cherish every book that he has ever given to me. He was a man who without ever having try, would give unconditional love. It was an immense pleasure to have in-depth conversations with Neil. He would  listen to whatever you had to say without interruption or judgement. He was always fully aware and present when you were engaged in a conversation with him.  He would be there to share within your joys and accomplishments, your grief and sadness, and knew at that very moment, how to connect with you. Only truly special people have that gift and Neil was one of them. He is now a kind spirit that will forever be in our hearts, hugging us. He would not want us to sad for his passing. Thank you Neil for your kindness and compassion that you have shared with me, my family, and may others you have inspired along the way. Heaven has just received a special soul!

I met Mr. Ramsay in 2015. I remember watching a full moon eclipse with him and Lena, playing scrabble, visiting and having meaningful conversations and talking alot about diet, health and nutrition.  He gave me a couple of books on those subjects.  He was a kind and knowledgeable man and will be missed by many especially his daughter Lena who loved him so very much. 

I've been a close family friend for 7 years. Mr. Ramsay has always been most kind to me. The day he passed we were to meet and I was to take him back over to the hospital,  I spent time with him prior and he'd  ask how was I doing and he'd joke with me about being alright. He'd ask me questions about health, what he should eat, how he should exercise and then he would tell me that my information was valuable and that he appreciated my thoughts.  He always ask about his daughter because she was important to him. It's a profound loss and I only wished I had gotten to him before he passed. ( I was 40 minutes too late) He always had a smile on his face, he was selfless. I could tell you about how much he cared for his daughter but if you knew him you knew how much. He always looked after his family and friends and I'm proud he considered me not just a friend but part of his family. 

Uncle Neil was a wonderful, dear uncle and I will miss him every day.  I am blessed to be his niece and blessed to have spent time with him each month.  My uncle had all the best attributes--nice, kind, caring, thoughtful, happy, devoted, patient, non-judgmental and loving.  I will remember him always for his generosity of his time and himself.  He took care of many family members throughout his life, devoting himself to them...from his mother, his wife, my father and many more.  I will always look up to him for being such a kind and patient care giver.  He was devoted to his family and showed us his love for Lena and her family.   He was so happy to be a part of their lives and to be loved by them and wanted nothing more.  I am blessed to have spent so many fun times with him.  I'll always remember the simple things, like sharing cheesecake or chocolate with him and watching him smile.   Or watching him listen to my Dad tell stories about when they were children and laughing.  Or receiving health articles from him because he cared.   He was such a great uncle because he was truly "present" when we were together...listening, hearing, and sharing.   I learned the most from him through his actions and how he treated everyone.  I will always be grateful for him.  He was such a blessing!

Uncle Neil was truly remarkable. I have met no one else who treats others with the level of respect and consideration that he did.  He was always so sincere in his interest when listening  to others as they expressed their opinion, shared a memory or experience, explained something or even just talked about anything at all.  His heart was for others - to learn from, to hear, and to know them.  He may not have realized his natural ability to create comfort, peace and a sense of safety for others.  He lived out his morals,, continually sought knowledge, and placed family as a top priority.  My Dad (Neil’s bother) has told me stories of their childhood with so many fond memories and their friendship. Neil (also nicknamed ‘Lil Bean at a very young age) was a wonderful and caring brother to my father and Uncle to myself and my siblings. We all loved him dearly and will greatly miss him.  

I worked with Neil at K-Mart when I was a business student at UCCS. I always enjoyed our talks.  Neil was a good sounding board for discussions about economics.  I'm sure those talks helped me on my exams.  Neil was a gentleman.  I hope you'll know how much I enjoyed knowing him.

I was moved beyond words when I found out Neil was taking my mother out to the opera because she was dying and mentioned once to him that she had never been before. Knowing her love for music and appreciation for the classics, he insisted she experience it. She couldn’t endure sitting for the whole performance, and he took her home without hesitation; the gesture that remains a gift to her and to others that proved the integrity and character of a man who was ever so thoughtful, kind, and giving. A gift that I hold as a memory my mom told with tenderness before she passed away and that I have told others about as an example of pure and innocent selflessness. He is missed, but I know his light will be carried on. I see that light in his daughter Lena, a light I have been blessed to see these past six years; a light more brightly shining each passing day.
