Melvin J. Moore Jr.

Born January 12, 1936 in Mondamin, Iowa to Melvin Sr. and Eva Moore.

Mel passed away at home on April 11, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janyce Moore, of Colorado Springs. Together they have been members at Academy Christian Church and very active in small group ministry for several years.

Mel is also survived by 4 children – Jim 54 (Denise), Jon 52 (Raeanna), Janell 50 (Bill), and Bill 47 (Robbie); 4 grandchildren – Jeremy, Shauna, Leaerin and Eric, 4 great-grandchildren – Joshua, Jaycob, Rhys and Jon, 4 brothers, 3 sisters, many nieces and nephews and a great number of beloved friends.

Mel spent a very productive and distinguished career in management and sales before retiring in Colorado Springs. He and Jan loved hiking, snowshoeing and other outdoor activities. They travelled together extensively throughout the country.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Academy Christian Church. Flowers may be sent to Academy Christian Church at 1635 Old Ranch Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80908.
