Marilyn Louise Jones

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Marilyn Louise Jones who passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at the age of 75 on August 21, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on December 30, 1947, in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Warren Hageman Jones and Eunice Louise (nee Runyon) Jones.

Marilyn had a sharp mind, spontaneous wit, and the gift of gab. She never met a stranger and easily mingled with everyone at social gatherings. Every person in the world, to her, was just a friend she hadn’t met yet. She was so very enthusiastic whether in loving us, discussing politics, or sharing her laughter. She loved any brain enhancing activities such as puzzles, educational television, and reading the dictionary. Marilyn held down several jobs until she became a compassionate caregiver to her sister and then her mother until they passed. Her favorite position was at Pikes Peak Community College as an administration assistant in the Health Occupations Division. Those that knew her will miss her infectious laugh and quick-witted one-liners.

Marilyn is survived by her brother, Warren (Karen Miller) Jones; nephews, Greg (Faith) Jones, John (Dina) Pacheco, and Michael (Vicki) Pacheco; nieces, Cheryl Welch, and Cindy (Don) Fendrick; and bonus sister, Patti Mirehouse. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sharon Pacheco VanOrsdel; and brother, Michael Jones. A scattering of ashes ceremony will be forthcoming
