Beloved mother and grandmother, Helen R. (Campbell) Westfall passed away on May 26, 2021. Helen was born to Eugene and Martha (Dapron) Campbell on February 18, 1934 in La Junta, CO. She graduated from La Junta High School in 1952. Always independent and spirited, Helen eloped with Charles D. Westfall to Raton, NM on November 5, 1952 in a red dress. They had three children and later moved to Colorado Springs where she worked for District 11. Helen enjoyed RV road trips with as many of their family as would fit; any stop that included slot machines were her favorite. She appreciated the music that always surrounded her as the wife of a big band conductor and contributed to the logistics comfortably out of the spotlight.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, John Campbell, Chuck Campbell, Curtis Campbell, Deloris (Campbell) Hanson; and husband, Charles D. Westfall.
She is survived by her children, Linda Herring (Tom) of Colorado Springs, CO, Dirk Westfall (Judi) of Anchorage, AK, Stephen Westfall (Mary) of Grand Canyon, AZ; brother Don Campbell of St. George, UT; sister-in-law, Sharon (Westfall) Grable of Montrose, CO; grandchildren, Dirk Jones, Erin Westfall, Kimberly Westfall, Megan Westfall, Justin Herring (Bri); and 6 great grandchildren.
True to her practical nature and selfless style, she has insisted no services to be held. She will be remembered for her understated wit, and her love and support of family.
