He is survived by his wife, Carla; sister, Beverly Ludwig; children Dale (Michele) Hall, Beth Wilkes, Ellen (Bret) Nealis, and Peggy Rosner; 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces, a nephew, and friends. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his father, Glenn G. Hall Sr., mother, Ruth (Hills) Hall, and brother, Wayne Hall.
Mr. Hall graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago and from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and then spent his working life as a mechanical design engineer at several employers until his retirement in 1989.
Glenn was interested in photography his entire life and had a collection of thousands of photos from every type of event and function you could imagine. He was a member of the Indianapolis News team, photographing the Indianapolis 500-Mile race from Turn 2 between 1964 and 1996. This led to his acceptance as a member of the Indianapolis “500” Oldtimers Club in 1994, which he supported for the rest of his life. His other lifelong interest was steam engines, and this led him to join the Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in 1992. Until his death, he participated in many work sessions to restore historic buildings and equipment owned by the railroad.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to: Friends of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, Inc, 4421 McLeod NE, Suite F, Albuquerque, NM 87109; https://www.cumbrestoltec.org.
