Geneva Pearl Inman

Geneva accepted Jesus' call to come Home to Glory on July 6, 2023.

She was born in Canton, Kansas, to Frank and Sara Heinrichs on April 13, 1929. She was the second of 5 children. Her parents were farmers, and taught their family work ethics, the value of a dollar and that God and family always come first.

Geneva began teaching in a one-room schoolhouse after graduation from high school. She attended Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, where she met the love of her life, Tom Inman. They were married on August 19,1950. They moved to Winona Lake, Indiana, for Tom to attend Grace Seminary. While there, she also took seminary classes.

In 1952 they added their first child, Patty. And in 1954 they moved to Denver, Colorado, where they ministered together at the Denver Grace Brethren church from 1954-1970. During this time they added three more children to their family, LynNelle, Bryce and Laurel. In 1970 they moved their family to Colorado Springs where they started a new church, Colorado Springs Grace Brethren. They served there until 1994 when they both retired.

During all 41 years of their ministry, Geneva was the pianist, a Sunday School teacher, nursery coordinator, records keeper and whatever else was needed in the church. She was truly a gifted and valuable minister's wife. She was also known for her sweet alto voice…even until the age of 94. In Colorado Springs, she became a school teacher once again at The Children's School. As a second grade teacher, she was much-loved by the students, parents and faculty. When she retired, they built a new playground in her honor and named it after her.

In their retirement, Tom and Geneva finally took real vacations. During their travels, they visited Hawaii, Alaska, New York, and drove across America to visit family and friends.

Geneva's real passion was for Missions. She inherited this passion from her parents and grandparents who were involved in missions work themselves. She was the National President for the Brethren Women's Missionary Council for several years. And, at the age of 70, she traveled to Africa and France…two of the mission stations she advocated for and where she had friends.

She will be greatly missed by the many whose lives she touched.

Geneva was preceded to Heaven by Tom, her beloved companion of 58 years, her parents Frank and Sara Heinrichs, her brother Robert Heinrichs, and her sister Eunice Senner. She is survived by her sister, Rachel (Bob) Harder and brother, Franklin Heinrichs, her daughters Patty (Kit) Cushenbery, LynNelle Mustard, Laurel (Mike) Fassold, and her son Bryce Inman, as well as grandchildren Erin (Hunter) Shumaker, Chris (Lauren) Cushenbery, Makenna Mustard, Kelsey (Dwayne) Gibbs, Connor (Kristin) Inman, Caitlin (Lucas) Grecco, and Allison (Matthew) McManus, great grandchildren Jack, Hope, David, Violet Geneva, Ezra, Wyatt, Shepherd, and Noah (arriving in September).

A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm, Wednesday, July 12, at the Colorado Springs Grace Brethren Church, 2975 Jet Wing Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80916
