Ernesto Gonzalo Vigil

Ernest (Ernie) Vigil of Colorado Springs, Colorado was born November 1, 1924 in Chaperito, New Mexico.

He was preceded in passing by his wife Rose Vigil, just a short 4 ½ months ago, as well by children Pablo, Juan, Donaciano Archuleta and Cruz Hernandez.

He is survived by his ten children, Tina (Al) Charron, Mike (Delores) Archuleta, Frances (Tom) Lujan, Virginia Lopez, Rose (Joe) Romero, Raynard Vigil, Millie (Kelly) Miller, Briant (Barb) Vigil, Mary Elaine Austin, Rita Martinez as well numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Dads’ tribulation of his life started at a very young age. The affliction he endured brought adversity growing up. Our dad was a fighter, but it taught him to trust God and gave him a very compassionate outlook in life and people. Although our dad was handicapped it never deterred him from helping others less fortunate. Our dad worked hard to provide for his family. He loved God, he loved his wife, he loved all his Hijos and Hijas, and he loved life. Dad our hearts break of your absence. We cared and loved you so much…Rest Papa. You left an excellent example of endurance and love and instilled in all of us our faith in our Lord Jesus. We love you dad!!

A Visitation will be held, Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, with a Funeral Mass Friday, June 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 6455 Brook Park Dr., with burial to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will be held following graveside services at The Satellite Hotel, 411 Lakewood Circle. The reception will be held in the basement.
