Emily "Lani" Ramazzotti

Lani was born on Dec 8,1940 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Captain and Katherine Freedman. Captain Freedman was stationed there and they were celebrating Lani’s first birthday when the attack on Pearl Harbor started. Fortunately the entire family survived the attack and the entire war. Lani loved to visit Hawaii at any time.

After graduating from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in California in 1958, she attended Carnegie Institute of Technology In Pittsburgh, PA majoring in Microbiology where she was constantly on the Dean’s List. In her freshman year, she met Dario an engineering major and the love story began. They got married a few weeks after her graduation on June 30,1962. She began work as a lab tech for McKesson & Robbins in Bridgeport, CT. She worked there until her first child Lisa was born.

Following her husband's career forced the family to relocate several times. Starting in Stratford, CT to Akron, OH to Atlanta, GA to Louisville, KY to Grand Rapids, MI and finally retirement in Colorado Springs in 2005. During those years she had 3 more girls Carla, Diana, and Daria. She enjoyed living in Colorado close to her grandchildren and loved the family gatherings. Family and friends were always extremely important in her life. She enjoyed the holidays and always made them a time to remember, especially Christmas. She never stopped buying decorations.

In addition, she was devoted to her church and loved the nuns who were so special to her.

Lani leaves behind her devoted husband of 60 years Dario Ramazzotti; loving children Lisa Counsell of Calhoun, GA - Carla Moran of Grand Rapids, MI - Diana Yarish of Bear Creek, NC and Daria Rose of Colorado Springs, CO and her brother Albert Freedman of Seattle ,WA.

Very Precious grandchildren Patricia, Christopher, Savannah, Madison, Ania, Chiara, Eden, Lyra, Belinda, Enon, and Londyn.

A Celebration of Life for Lani will be held on January 21 at 11AM at St Francis of Assisi Church, 2650 Parish View, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Lani will be laid to rest in the columbarium at St Francis at that time.
