Donna Jeanne Bunck

Donna was born on April 18, 1943 in Colby, Kansas, to the late Theodore and Agnes Kruse. Donna met and married John Bunck in August of 1963. They honeymooned in Colorado Springs and were so enamored with the state that they relocated there in 1965. They spent the next 57 years living in Colorado, building their family and life together. Through their love, John and Donna were blessed with three children; Kim (Bunck) Noble and her spouse Rick Noble, Kristi (Bunck) Blanco and her partner Scott Palmer, and Kurt Bunck and his spouse Ginoa Bunck, along with six grandchildren, Nicole Bunck, Noah Blanco, Jacie Bunck, Sydney and Addie Noble and Brylee Bunck. All reside in Colorado.

Donna’s younger years were spent on a farm in Oakley, Kansas with her parents and seven siblings. She had four sisters: Betty Mayer, late Marilyn Karlin, Julie Chaney, and Jane Koester, and three brothers: Ted Kruse, Kenny Kruse, and late Alan Kruse. The family later lived in Waterloo, Norwich and then Andale, Kansas where she graduated high school. Donna kept in touch with her many high school friends in the years since.

Donna was the type of person to get involved and she loved being around her family and friends. She worked tirelessly as a homemaker and was a room mother when her children were growing up. She enjoyed great success selling Avon before she followed her brother Ted's advice and went headlong into real estate. She would spend 45 successful years in that field and was often recognized as a top performer among her peers. Donna eventually brought her son Kurt into real estate, teaching him everything she knew and eventually leaving her business with him.

Donna and John loved taking trips in their RV, and took many trips in it to Arizona, Mexico, Utah and all around Colorado. Donna met people everywhere they went and she remained lifelong friends with many. Donna and John also enjoyed vacationing in their timeshare in Mexico, together with their brothers and sisters and their spouses.

Over the past year or so when John was unable to go to church with her, Donna enjoyed going to mass with a couple of friends. They sat together every Sunday and often went downstairs for donuts and coffee after the service. They became known as "the Three Musketeers" and "The Golden Girls", and they certainly had a special relationship with each other. When not with these lovely ladies, other friends or her family Donna could frequently be found praying or saying the rosary. Her faith was strong and she is now being prayed for by many, just as she prayed for them.

Her children and grandchildren were Donna’s pride and joy and she would talk about them non-stop to anyone who would listen. She made them hats and blankets, and never missed a birthday or holiday for a chance to spoil them. She was famous for all her great cooking, but her chocolate cake was a crowd favorite. Donna's presence and love will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church.

A rosary and visitation for Donna will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with a reception will immediately following services until 1:00 PM, all at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918.
